Key Developments in the Membrane Filtration Systems Market

In November 2020, METAWATER acquired the entire share capital of Rood Wit Blauw Holding B.V. (RWB), a water treatment engineering firm in the Netherlands. With this acquisition, METAWATER aimed to expand its European business and promote international expansion.

In addition to buying Mecana Umwelttechnik in Switzerland, acquiring FUCHS Enprotec GmbH in Germany, and acquiring RWB in the Netherlands, METAWATER will be able to capitalize on the resources of each company to strengthen and expand its European business.

Furthermore, RWB provides various types of water treatment systems throughout Europe, including the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Spain. Moreover, RWB has provided ceramic membrane filtration systems at more than ten sites, specializing in METAWATER technology.

On June 17, 2020, H2O Innovations announced a strategic alliance with Nanostone and confirmed its position as a Ceramic Membrane System Integrator in the water industry.

Using Nanostone membranes, H2O Innovation delivered an additional water treatment system to a resort in New York, treating year-round surface water at cold temperatures.

Over the past two years, they have been retrofitting existing polymeric microfiltration and ultrafiltration membrane systems independently, which has resulted in contractors signing contracts in Texas and the Dakotas.

The parties have agreed to cooperate into bigger commercialization of the technology in this preferential business collaboration.

Membrane Filtration Systems Introduction

A membrane is a thin layer of a semipermeable material, made of different materials like cellulose acetate available in a wide range of defined pore sizes.

Membrane filtration is a pressure-driven separation process that uses the membrane for both chemical and mechanical filtration of particles.

Membrane filtration systems help retain the original characteristics of different products by removing different unwanted elements from them.

Membrane filtration systems assist in the removal of bacteria and microorganisms which impart unpleasant color, odor, and taste to water, by reacting to form disinfection by-products.

While doing so, the membrane filtration systems ensure that there are minimum changes made to the original substance.

Membrane Filtration Systems: Dynamics

The global market is majorly driven by rising awareness among consumers about the importance of the water filtration process. As water resources are becoming highly contaminated, industries are seeking advanced purification methods, providing greater scope for membrane filtration systems.

Besides, tightening government regulations regarding filtration and safety standards are driving the global market for membrane filtration systems across major industries.

Advancements in technology related to membrane filtration systems is increasing day by day and expected to continue the same over the forecast period, which will drive the market for global membrane filtration systems.

Furthermore, factors such as development in generic productions, high growth in dairy and pharmaceutical industries are expected to boost the global market during the forecast period.

On the other hand, the factor like requirement of high setup cost may hamper the growth of global market during the forecast period.
